Hasselbeck and Palin ” The brain Power Team”!

Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Sarah Palin share in common that neither adhere to the repeated lessons of ignorance not being bliss. These two women continue to embarrass themselves and affiliates, the only upside is they do bring the comedy

Paris Hilton deserves a break, after all no one thinks she’s intellectually brilliant nor does she portray herself that way. Hasselbeck and Palin however work tirelessly to convince the public that they each are women to be taken serious as world affairs experts. Sadly they are probably close in the knowledge department.

Hasselbeck who is most known for eating bugs on a realty show and then dressing the public for less as a fashion consultant on the E network surely has the credentials of a world affairs expert. While her idol Palin can see Russia from her back yard in Alaska has more world affairs experience than all the candidates in the 2008 election. Wow! two of the Countries genesis, aren’t we a lucky Nation for these two women to keep us informed on current and world affairs.

There comes a time to either research the correct information or shut up in order not to make oneself look ignorant. When will these women take the time to at least show some signs of examining issues with a reasonable amount of intellect before misinforming the public with lies and manipulated information as experts? The only expertise each has is decent looks and a self claimed sense of entitlement.

It would be only a matter of time before these two women took the bull horns to the public shouting that Barack Obama is a terrorist due to his affiliations with  a man he sat on a board with and happens to be a  neighbor. This is offensive and an out right lie which is in the poorest of taste for anyone to attach to a man serving in the Country’s Senate.

It goes without saying I am not a fan of either Hasselbeck or Palin’s inability to fact check and use logic and intellect to defend their positions in politics. Instead they lie, distort and humiliate others all in the name of God and Country. Some of this Country’s biggest embarrassments occurred under the same pretense.

This Country has come a long way, yet backsliding is easy when others are in such fear that destroying a person’s character is the only option to win. Obama is no terrorist, nor has he associated himself or lived his life in that manner. He has served his Country as a servant in the U.S senate, and served his community as an activist and leader. He is fair game to attacks as a candidate, but character assassination based on lies.

In additional he has worked hard to educate himself at one of the best schools in the Country to live this American dream. How dare one deface decency? He will serve this Country just as proudly as John McCain would. Ladies pull yourselves together and move on to issues in this Country’s best interest, not self serving indulgence breeding further ignorance.

One minute Palin is telling Joe Biden to stop bringing up the past and move to the future,  and the next she is rehashing old stories initially charged by her party on Reverend J. Wright and William Ayres. Obam addressed the issues and denounced Wright’s views publicly admitting they were not in alignment with his or his family’s values. He informed the public that he knew Ayres as someone he sat on a few boards with and a neighbor, as well as their children attended school together. There is a difference between associates, casual acquaintances and friends. Most of us do not adhere to background checking everyone we meet on a general level. And although both of these men had reputations in the community unless you are involved directly as he was not, you wouldn’t really know.

How do I know this?, Well I live in Chicago, travel the circle and I am aware of both men in question through casual affiliations of work and proximity of where I live. There values are their own, how dare in the name of Country one try to turn the public by a malicious attack on this mans character. Hasselbeck used this same sly insinuation attacking the character of Michelle Obama.

Two women with devious attacks and the inability to focus the spotlight on John McCain unless they are defacing Obama on a very personal level, this is sad, insulting and not  American, with the problems we face as a Country these attacks will not serve in the interest of their party. People see one color issue in this Country at the moment and it is GREEN.

  1. Okay agreed. Elizabeth does NOT have political authority. But why is the same not being said about the other ladies of the view? they are just as passionate about their point of view. if you are going to discount her authority (as well you should) please do so for the others as well.

  2. You are correct in saying the other ladies are not experts either, however they spend their energy on the defense of Elisabeth’s unfounded attacks on others.
In addition they defend on record and issues not personal attacks of the opposition. That is in essence my problem with Elisabth. It is her personal attacks which are unfounded or unfair charges against ones person, not politics. Its also obvious these ladies like the opposing candidates personally, they just disagree on politics.
The other ladies may disagree with the opposing views of a candidate, but call them out on policy not made up associations or relationship to turn around an election going down a bridge to nowhere:)

    Thanks for the comment!

  3. I will agree to a certain point. But then you have JOY who seems to end all her comments with “That old man.” or something to the effect. It doesn’t bother me that they call her on her statements, after all that is the whole point of the show. What bothers me is the attitude in which they do so. Sheri, for two days in a row, has gone to the extent of pointing her finger in Elizabeths face. Sheri is not an expert. Her OPINIONS and INTERPERTATIONS should be stated calmly and as an adult. Not with the threatening manner in which she is doing so.

Yes, the associations of both candidates have already been explored and dealt with. I don’t think we should be rehashing that again as really it gets us nowhere. but there are better ways of saying that than yelling over someone and appearing as if you want to strike the person. While i may not agree with everything elizabeth is saying (or the other ladies for that matter) the point of the show is to be heard and debate, no intimidate, humiliate, or personalize issues.

in terms of the other ladies spending their energy on the defense of elizabeths unfounded attacks….the fact that they are unfounded is up for debate. some agree they are fact and others think they are nothing but nonsense. but isn’t that the point? elizabeth should be able to go to the table with her interpertations and have the other ladies LISTEN and then DISCUSS. very rarely do i see them make points of their own. they simply say elizabeth is wrong. or at times dismiss her with a hand wave.

and i must stress again, i don’t agree with a lot elizabeth has to say. but come on! let the girl talk.

  5. Joy is a comic, that is her role on the show, she brings the laughs. There is question as to what is and isn’t humor which can be debated. However calling McCain old was not an insult it is fact. But that fact has nothing to do with his ability to run the country, it may be a problem for some. The AARP defines senior status not Joy. She has called Barbra Walters old.
Sherri is no more a threat to Elisabeth than a disney character or Whoppi. If Elisabeth can cry and break down when others including Barbra disagree, these women can express themselves, and maybe Sherri felt the need to point as Elisabeth’s emotions usually leads her to be stubborn, closed minded or to cry.I agree not the correct approach for either woman to hold.
Sherri is not a violent black woman who will attack poor Elisabeth. This plays into the sterotype that blacks are dangerous when they disagree. Thats just like the implication of saying Obama is a terrorist. Uhm…, He either is a terrorist because proof supports the acusation as being FACT exist, or he is not because there is no proof to support it as being FACT which leaves it to be rumour.
Obama is fair game on questioning his politics and proven affiliations, but not character assasination on malicious lies. Its un American. Words have very specific meaning and understanding, you can’t almost be a terrorist. This is the dangerous side of politics which leads many to untruths in support of victory. Sad, but true:)

  6. no no i think you misunderstood me. I am in no way saying that blacks are dangerous. i would have made the same comment if Joy had made the gesture. and i agree with you that obama is not a terrorist. but you have to admit that one that show there is character assassination on both sides.

  7. Thank you, I know you didn’t say that, but Sherrys actions were emtionally charged, the same as Elisabeth’s. They express themselves differntly, one cries and the other espresses pointing the finger. Niether woman feels understood and view the world differently obviously. Sherry should avoid the point, and Elisabeth should know when to gracefully agree not to agree.
The show does not attack John McCains character, they attack his political views. They have never referred to him as anything but a decorated war hero who they disgree with his politics. I would never say anything less of him either personally, now Palin she is fair game.
Obama and his wife Michelle have been smeared by Elisabeth’s character assination attempts in sly and direct remarks associated to terms of truth, hiding something to imply mystery and darkness, key words pointing to association with terrorist..all in a code to scare mainstreet in this Country. Its not in good taste, each candidate deserves personal respect in this election anything less is not American.

  8. i do agree that while elizabeth in the beginning said she is happy to finally live in a america where an african american could finally be seen as an american president contender, she has gone in the opposite direction now.

she DOES still claim that he is a good person but in the next breath slanders him. and i can understand why that would upset people. heck it upsets me. and i can understand where the anger and the need to stand up for your candidate comes from. and to a point i can understand the verocity in which they show it. it’s just in my opinion it’s getting out of control.

my way of solving the issue.

    1. have another “elizabeth” on the show to back her up (although this doesn’t solve the fact that in truth elizabeth is very green)
    2. get rid of elizabeth (although then it would just be everyone having the same view and what fun would that be?
    3. have elizabeth suck it up and just learn when to shut up (although then she will eventually blow up from keeping her feelings and thoughts inside
    4. have a sit down with all the women and reiterate that everyone should be heard (although that is very idealistic)

okay after listing them…i have a feeling we are going to end up with another rosie/elizabeth type accident and elizabeth will be (finally?) let go.

  9. I agree more balance is needed. I have to admit as much as Elisabeth disturbs me it is important for someone sharing her views to be represented on the show. You are also correct in saying it is getting Wayyyyy out of control and something needs to be done.
They have tried talking, but as we see it does not work, once emotions come into play on the show all logic and reasoning seems to jump off of the stage. Let’s hope they find a soloution:)
